Happy 50th Anniversary to two outstanding organizations: East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) and Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA). Congratulations! We salute Dick Krajczar for his many years of distinguished leadership at EARCOS. NESA's distinguished leadership includes Stanley and Mary Anne Haas, David Chojnacki, and Madeline Hewitt. We hope many had the opportunity to celebrate during their fall conferences!

National Distinguished Principals 2018

Congratulations Tim Messick and John Smithies

The 2018 National Distinguished Principals Program was held October 11-12, 2018 in Washington, DC. The US based National Association of Elementary School Principals established the program in 1984 to recognize and celebrate elementary and middle level principals in the United States, who set high standards for instruction, student achievement, character, and climate for the students, families and staff in their learning communities. From the beginning of the Award program, two outstanding principals have also been selected from international schools that are assisted by the Office of Overseas Schools of the United States Department of State.

This year's recipients are Tim Messick, elementary principal of the American School of the Hague (ASH) in The Netherlands, and John Smithies, elementary principal of The American School of Bombay in India.
